Charlestown is a neighborhood of Boston that is located just north of the city on a peninsula. Historically associated with its traditional Irish-American population, Charlestown is becoming home to many young working professionals and a new generation of residents. Surrounded by both the Boston Harbor and the Mystic River, Charlestown is home to the U.S.S. Constitution, the Navy Yard, and the Bunker Hill Monument. Many visitors like to stop by Warren Tavern, a pub dating back to 1780 that claims to be a former favorite of Paul Revere. Bunker Hill Community College's main campus has called Charlestown it's home since 1955, when it took over the buildings that formerly housed the Charlestown State Prison.
